The members of the Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Agents Association, Home Office employees, field staff, sponsors, and guests enjoyed a beautiful day of golf Thursday, September 18, at the Picadome golf course in Lexington, KY. A total of 16 teams participated in the shotgun start, scramble format golf outing.

The winning team was Team #10 consisting of Dale Swigert from Safelite AutoGlass, Chuck Gaar, new agent in Jefferson Co., Chris French, ASMM from District 2, and Matt Wildt from ServPro. The team shot a 15 under 57. Placing second was team #1, with Pete Cornett from Harlan Co., Katie Hellman, KFB Employee, Wayne Grannis from Fleming Co., and Danny Luttrell of Bell Co. They shot a 14 under 58. Team #13 placed third on the day with a 13 under 59. That team was made up of John Mardis from ServPro, John Radar of Madison Co, Adam Whiteside, ASMM in District 1, and J P Gentry, new agent in Fayette Co.

In addition to the team competition, several individual awards were presented. Safelite AutoGlass presented a $100 gift card to Noland Smith of Grant Co. for the longest putt. Katie Hellman took home both the Women’s Long Drive and Women’s Closest to the Pin awards. Ken Wilson, Director of Marketing, came close to making a hole-in-one on #4. That shot held up as the day wore on, and he received the prize for Men’s Closest to the Pin.

J P Gentry of Fayette Co. let the big dog eat on hole #10 and took home the prize for men’s long drive. Austin Morrow, ASMM in District 3, won the golf bag give-away by ServPro. The most dubious honor of the day went to Team #12, consisting of Kevin Rigdon from Hart Co., Eddie Prince from ServPro, Marc Robert of Hardin Co., and Tony Turner, ASMM from District 5. They had the worst score of the day, a 3 under 69, and were awarded a sleeve of Titleist Pro V1 golf balls given by Safelite AutoGlass.

In the end, all had a good time, and the KFBIAA would like to thank all those who attended, as well as the sponsors who made our event such a huge success. If you did not make it to this year’s convention and golf outing, you missed a great event. Make sure to put it on your calendar for next year! Don’t get left out!

The KFBIAA would like to give a quick shout out to Chris French, ASMM in District 2. Chris was on the winning golf scramble team and collected $100 for his winnings. Out of the goodness of his heart, Chris donated that money back to the KFBIAA to be used for our scholarship fund. Thank You Chris for your generous donation! This money will go a long way toward furthering some deserving young person’s education.
